A viral video from a San Francisco Giants game has taken over the internet with over 43.9 million views. The clip shows a mother named Erika carrying two trays full of nachos, hot dogs, pretzels and drinks while having her baby strapped to her chest, while her husband Ramses sits and watches the game.
NBC Sports announcers called her "mom of the year" and praised her multitasking skills, but the internet did the opposite - they attacked her husband for not helping.
The backlash was so intense that Erika had to speak out on Substack. She explained that they were at the game to honor a friend of her husband who had recently passed away, and that her husband is actually a very involved father.
"Anyone who knows our family knows how ridiculous it is to suggest that Ramses never helps," she wrote.
She revealed that after the video went viral, they received thousands of hate messages telling her to leave her husband.
What was meant to be a funny broadcast moment turned into a national debate about parenting, marriage, and how quickly the internet judges people without knowing the full story.
The couple's story has now sparked a bigger conversation about mom-shaming and dad-shaming in America.
